Simcoe County Council has approved their 2022 budget.
The final figure was $638 million which will mean a 2% increase on the County portion of municipal property taxes in 2022.
In a release, the County says the money will allow the continuation of investment in Infrastructure, Long-Term Care, Paramedic Services, Affordable Housing, Waste Collections, Transit, Economic Development and Tourism
They added that to hold the line at a 2% increase on municipal tax the County will be utilizing some reserves.
County Council states the increase from 2021 to 2022 is due to COVID-19 pressures, areas of growth, investment and initiatives directed by Council to enhance service levels while increasing efficiencies.
