One of the cheapest real estate listings is located right in Campbellville.
CTV News says a refurbished train caboose for sale on Campbellville’s Main Street is listed for just $45,000. The catch: it’s not recommended for residential use at this time.
The caboose was built in 1912 and refurbished into its current state in 2009. It was previously used as an office and showroom for a limousine company. It has no running water and does not feature a bathroom.
The report suggests that running water could be added through installing sewage lines and holding tanks.
It does sit on leased land where it costs $400 a month to remain where it stands. The realtor of the caboose, Jennifer Krane, told CTV News that she hopes the eventual buyer will take the structure away and move it to their own property – either for use as a tiny home or as a play structure for children.
So, are you buying a train caboose?
