The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has released the latest crime stats report for Milton and the surrounding area.
Each week, the report and the accompanying CityProtect crime map detail where and when reported cases of crime have taken place. Between Monday, November 8th and Monday, November 15th, there were at least 31 cases of crime in Milton. Here’s what we found on the map:
- A theft of vehicle case on Bronte Street South on Monday, November 8th;
- three assault cases on Martin Street on Monday, November 8th;
- a theft case on Williams Avenue on Monday, November 8th;
- a property crime case on Farlow Crescent on Monday, November 8th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Emmett Landing on Monday, November 8th;
- a property crime case on Gillett Point on Monday, November 8th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Rose Way on Monday, November 8th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Sycamore Garden on Monday, November 8th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Durno Court on Tuesday, November 9th;
- an assault case on Martin Street on Tuesday, November 9th;
- an assault case on Costigan Road on Wednesday, November 10th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Weston Drive on Wednesday, November 10th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Steeles Avenue East on Wednesday, November 10th;
- a property crime case on Wettlaufer Terrace on Thursday, November 11th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Millside Crescent on Thursday, November 11th;
- a quality of life case on Ontario Street South on Thursday, November 11th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Farmstead Drive on Thursday, November 11th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Amos Drive in Brookville on Thursday, November 11th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Blacklock Street in Brookville on Friday, November 12th;
- an assault case in the area of Bussel Crescent and Tupper Drive on Friday, November 12th;
- a theft case on Lawson Road on Friday, November 12th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Guelph Line in Campbellville on Saturday, November 13th;
- a pair of theft of vehicle cases on Dublin Line on Saturday, November 13th;
- a breaking and entering case on Dublin Line on Saturday, November 13th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Guelph Line in Campbellville on Sunday, November 14th;
- an assault case on Steeles Avenue East on Sunday, November 14th;
- a theft case on Leiterman Drive on Sunday, November 14th; and,
- a property crime on Mowat Lane on Sunday, November 14th.
Of the 31 cases of crime, 18 were theft cases, seven were assault cases, four were property crime cases, one was a break and enter case, and one was a quality of life case.
With the number of theft and theft from vehicle cases, we’ll recycle a message from the HRPS where it encourages residents to implement the following theft prevention tips:
- Ensure your unattended vehicle(s) are locked and secure;
- Never leave spare keys in your vehicle;
- Remove valuables from plain view; and,
- Equip your vehicle with an alarm.
