The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) needs your help in finding a missing Remington 783 rifle.
On Monday, November 1st, between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m., the owner of the rifle reportedly left it on the rear cover of a pickup truck. It’s believed it fell off when the owner drove away. They reported the mishap when they got to where they were going and couldn’t find it.
The owner travelled along Poplar Ave to Maria St, west on Church St. E and north on Main St. N to Wallace St. in Acton. From Wallace St. the owner continued travelling onto MacDonald Blvd. to Churchill Rd N, and then to No. 32 Sideroad.
Officers searched the route the owner drove, but were unable to find the firearm.
The rifle was unloaded, and inside a camouflage case, with no accompanying ammunition.
Police ask that if the rifle is located by a member of the public, do not handle it and call 911 immediately.
