The cause of an Alliston house fire that left 8 people homeless has been determined to have been caused by improperly discarded smoking material.
New Tecumseth Fire Rescue responded to the fire on Boyne Street October 28.
The fire caused extensive damage to the building.
A cat was rescued by emergency crews and a dog who ran off when the fire broke out has been found and reunited with the family.
A Go Fund Me campaign continues to assist the families living in the house to gather essential items.
