We had a jump in new cases over the weekend for Milton and Halton.
Across Halton, since Friday, there have been 39 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 19,921. With 19,597 resolved cases and 243 deaths, Halton is at 81 active cases, five more than Friday’s update. The Region says that of the 19,921 total cases, 19,224 were confirmed positive while 697 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have eight new cases. That brings us to 6348 total cases. With 6286 resolved cases and 46 deaths, Milton is at 16 active cases, six cases more than Friday’s update. The Region says that of the 6348 total cases, 6106 were confirmed positive while 242 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 6640 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 2251 total variant cases.
An outbreak at a Milton workplace has been declared closed. It was listed on the Halton Region webpage as ‘Workplace – 162’. The outbreak has eight total cases reported – one was a Halton case, seven were considered non-Halton cases. It officially closed on Saturday, October 30th.
An outbreak has been reported at a Milton school. It’s at Holy Rosary (Milton) Catholic Elementary School. It was first reported by the Halton Region on Wednesday, October 27th. There are two cases being reported (the minimum for an outbreak). Both are considered Halton cases, meaning they are Halton residents.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 891,935 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 799,512 of the doses were to Halton residents.
453,878 second doses have been administered in Halton. 405,162 of those have been Halton residents.

- 22,938 first doses and 22,359 second doses have been administered to people aged 70-74;
- 17,302 first doses and 17,115 second doses have been administered to people aged 75-79;
- 24,717 first doses and 24,465 second doses have been administered to people aged 80+; and,
- 2000 first doses and 1320 second doses are pending.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 79,303 first doses and 105,367 second doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 13,891 first doses and 10,097 second doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 344,863 first doses and 338,414 second doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
The Halton Region says that out of the 465,923 Halton residents who are immunized with two doses of the COVID-19, 0.14% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination. For Milton, there are 97,490 fully immunized residents – 0.14% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination.
