Milton Fairgrounds, 2019
The Milton Farmers’ Market wrapped up earlier this month.
The weekly event is held by the Milton Chamber of Commerce at the Milton Fairgrounds. Chamber President and CEO Scott McCammon recaps the year that was for the market.
He adds that this past summer was one of the best years for the Market so far, with averages of 2100 every Saturday and a peak of 3000 attendees some weeks.
McCammon says the vendors were ecstatic to be back and talking to customers. There is a waitlist for vendors looking to be a part of the Market, so it shows how valuable being a part of it each week can be.
A big part of the Milton Farmers’ Market is the Milton Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Cafe. McCammon says it continued this year and is expected to meet its goal.
The Sports Celebrity Dinner is expected to once again be held in February.
Details are still being worked on for next year’s Milton Farmers’ Market. McCammon says opening day is typically on the Victoria Day long weekend. Applications for vendors will begin in March, and vendors from the previous year will get first right of refusal for attending the next year.
The location for next year is still unknown. McCammon says that both the Fairgrounds and Milton’s Main Street are viable options. The Chamber will approach the vendors to get their feedback on the locations and make a decision closer to the opening day.
