Another good day for COVID-19 numbers in Milton and Halton.
Across Halton, there are nine new cases. The total number of cases is up to 19,868. With 19,555 resolved cases and 243 deaths, Halton is at 70 active cases, two less than Wednesday’s update. The Region says that of the 19,868 total cases, 19,174 were confirmed positive while 694 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have two new cases. That keeps us at 6338 total cases. With 6283 resolved cases and 46 deaths, Milton is at nine active cases, one case less than Wednesday’s update. The Region says that of the 6338 total cases, 6096 were confirmed positive while 242 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 6633 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 2251 total variant cases.
There’s an outbreak being reported at a Milton workplace. It’s listed on the Halton Region webpage as ‘Workplace – 162’. There are eight total cases being reported – one is a Halton case, seven are considered non-Halton cases. It was first declared on Thursday, October 14th.
A new outbreak has been reported at a Milton school. It’s at Holy Rosary (Milton) Catholic Elementary School. It was first reported by the Halton Region on Wednesday, October 27th. There are two cases being reported (the minimum for an outbreak). Both are considered Halton cases, meaning they are Halton residents.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 890,066 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 798,052 of the doses were to Halton residents.
452,596 second doses have been administered in Halton. 404,153 of those have been Halton residents.

- 24,708 first doses and 24,452 second doses have been administered to people aged 80+; and,
- 1,993 first doses and 1299 second doses are pending.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 78,901 first doses and 104,522 second doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 13,891 first doses and 10,097 second doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 344,678 first doses and 337,977 second doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
The Halton Region says that out of the 464,596 Halton residents who are immunized with two doses of the COVID-19, 0.13% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination. For Milton, there are 97,131 fully immunized residents – 0.14% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination.
