The latest COVID-19 stats for Milton and Halton have been released.
Across Halton, there are 13 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 19,792. With 19,468 resolved cases and 242 deaths, Halton is at 82 active cases, two more than Wednesday’s update. The Region says that of the 19,792 total cases, 19,099 were confirmed positive while 693 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have three new cases. That keeps us at 6326 total cases. With 6260 resolved cases and 46 deaths, Milton is at 20 active cases, two cases less than Wednesday’s update. The Region says that of the 6326 total cases, 6085 were confirmed positive while 241 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 6610 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 2244 total variant cases.
The Halton Region has reported an outbreak at a Milton school. The outbreak was first declared on Tuesday, October 12th. There are two cases being reported, both being considered ‘Halton’ cases, meaning the residents are from Halton. The outbreak is at Anne J. Macarthur Public School.
An outbreak is being reported at a second Milton school. This outbreak is at St. Benedict Catholic Elementary School. There are two cases being reported, the minimum for what is considered an outbreak. The outbreak was first declared on Wednesday, October 13th.
There’s an outbreak being reported at a Milton workplace. It’s listed on the Halton Region webpage as ‘Workplace – 162’. There are eight total cases being reported – one is a Halton case, seven are considered non-Halton cases. It was first declared on Thursday, October 14th.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 886,009 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 794,863 of the doses were to Halton residents.
449,950 second doses have been administered in Halton. 402,067 of those have been Halton residents.

The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 77,930 first doses and 102,791 second doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 13,881 first doses and 10,065 second doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 344,248 first doses and 337,094 second doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
The Halton Region says that out of the 461,872 Halton residents who are immunized with two doses of the COVID-19, 0.12% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination. For Milton, there are 96,474 fully immunized residents – 0.13% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination.
