The latest crime stats report from the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has been released, along with the CityProtect Crime Map.
Each week, the map details where and when reported crimes in Milton took place. Looking over the map, there were at least 19 cases of crime in Milton between Tuesday, October 12th and Monday, October 18th. Here’s what we found:
- A property crime case on Main Street on Tuesday, October 12th;
- a theft case on Peru Road on Tuesday, October 12th;
- a breaking and entering case on Manley lane on Tuesday, October 12th;
- a theft case on Main Street on Tuesday, October 12th;
- an assault case on Norris Circle on Tuesday, October 12th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Santa Maria Boulevard on Tuesday, October 12th;
- an assault case on Steeles Avenue on Tuesday, October 12th;
- a theft case on Sixth Line on Wednesday, October 13th;
- a theft case on Steeles Avenue on Wednesday, October 13th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Pettigrew Trail on Wednesday, October 13th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Morobel Drive on Wednesday, October 13th;
- a pair of assault cases on Martin Street on Wednesday, October 13th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Escarpment Way on Wednesday, October 13th;
- a theft case on Clarriage Court on Wednesday, October 13th;
- an assault case on Savoline Boulevard on Thursday, October 14th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Astleton Boulevard on Saturday, October 16th;
- a theft case on Steeles Avenue on Saturday, October 16th; and,
- a theft case on Steeles Avenue on Sunday, October 17th.
Of the 19 cases that we were able track down on the map, 12 were theft cases of some kind, five were assault cases, one was a breaking and entering case, and one was a property crime case.
With the number of theft and theft from vehicle cases, we’ll recycle a message from the HRPS where it encourages residents to implement the following theft prevention tips:
- Ensure your unattended vehicle(s) are locked and secure;
- Never leave spare keys in your vehicle;
- Remove valuables from plain view; and,
- Equip your vehicle with an alarm.
