The latest COVID-19 stats are finally here for Milton and Halton.
Across Halton, there are 49 new cases coming out of the long weekend. The total number of cases is up to 19,683. With 19,347 resolved cases and 242 deaths, Halton is now at 94 active cases, 13 less cases than Friday’s update. The Region says that of the 19,683 total cases, 18,995 were confirmed positive while 688 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have 16 new cases. That keeps us at 6293 total cases. With 6220 resolved cases and 46 deaths, Milton is at 27 active cases, two more than Thursday’s update. The Region says that of the 6293 total cases, 6052 were confirmed positive while 241 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 6584 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 2236 total variant cases.
The outbreak at a Milton school has been closed. Irma Coulson Public School had seven reported cases, each were Halton Cases. The outbreak was declared on Friday, September 24th. It was closed on Friday, October 8th.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 879,425 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 789,625 of the doses were to Halton residents.
445,476 second doses have been administered in Halton. 398,454 of those have been Halton residents.
Here’s a breakdown on ages of those receiving doses:

- 22,868 first doses and 22,271 second doses have been administered to people aged 70-74;
- 17,270 first doses and 17,034 second doses have been administered to people aged 75-79;
- 24,686 first doses and 24,395 second doses have been administered to people aged 80+; and,
- 1,939 first doses and 1167 second doses are pending.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 76,494 first doses and 99,878 second doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 13,825 first doses and 9999 second doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 343,630 first doses and 335,599 second doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
The Halton Region says that out of the 457,278 Halton residents who are immunized with two doses of the COVID-19, 0.12% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination. For Milton, there are 95,281 fully immunized residents – 0.12% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination.
