It was announced this week that Ontario will supply rapid COVID-19 tests to some high-risk schools, child-care settings
Dr. Charles Gardner is Chief Medical Officer of Health with the Simcoe Muskoka Health.
He says rapid antigen testing in unvaccinated school children is something that will be used only if necessary in Simcoe Muskoka schools
Dr. Gardner says they are seeing more cases of the Delta Variant in younger unvaccinated people.
He says no schools in the area are being considered for rapid testing at the moment but that could change.
The case count at St Marie of the Incarnation Catholic School in Bradford is now 15 cases and 7 classrooms closed.
