Testing both smoke and carbon monoxide alarms will not only ensure they are working but knowing the different sounds can help save you time if they do go off.
Lunn says sensory alarms are available for those with hearing or vision impairments, those too should be tested.
He says knowing how they function in the event of an emergency can mean the difference between life an death.
New Tecumseth Fire Rescue will be set up Saturday October 9th at Canadian Tire in Alliston, Foodland in Beeton and Vince’s Market and Foodland in Tottenham between 10am and 2pm providing fire safety tips and information on making a family escape plan.
