Coming out of the weekend, there are a bunch of new cases.
Across Halton, there are 50 new cases since Friday. The total number of cases is up to 19,557. With 19,213 resolved cases and 242 deaths, Halton is now at 102 active cases, 14 less cases than Friday’s update. The Region says that of the 19,557 total cases, 18,880 were confirmed positive while 677 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have 16 new cases. That keeps us at 6255 total cases. With 6181 resolved cases and 46 deaths, Milton is at 28 active cases, one more case than Friday’s updates. The Region says that of the 6255 total cases, 6017 were confirmed positive while 238 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 6559 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 2231 total variant cases.
An outbreak that was declared in Milton has closed. The outbreak at Hawthorne Village Public School had three cases, all three were Halton cases. The outbreak was declared on Thursday, September 16th and closed on Friday, October 1st.
An outbreak has been declared in Milton. It was first declared on Wednesday, September 8th. It is labelled as ‘Workplace – 158’. There are now 18 reported cases. Two are considered Halton cases. 16 are ‘non-Halton’ cases.
Another Milton school is now dealing with an outbreak. Irma Coulson Public School has seven reported cases, each are Halton Cases. The outbreak was declared on Friday, September 24th.
A third Milton school outbreak has just been declared. This outbreak is at Escarpment View Public School. There are four cases being reported, both are Halton cases. It was first declared on Tuesday, September 28th.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 874,133 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 785,438 of the doses were to Halton residents.
441,973 second doses have been administered in Halton. 395,655 of those have been Halton residents.
Here’s a breakdown on ages of those receiving doses:

- 25,273 first doses and 24,317 second doses have been administered to people aged 65-69;
- 22,841 first doses and 22,240 second doses have been administered to people aged 70-74;
- 17,250 first doses and 17,022 second doses have been administered to people aged 75-79;
- 24,673 first doses and 24,378 second doses have been administered to people aged 80+; and,
- 1,901 first doses and 1040 second doses are pending.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 75,183 first doses and 97,528 second doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 13,826 first doses and 9995 second doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 343,151 first doses and 334,450 second doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
The Halton Region says that out of the 453,689 Halton residents who are immunized with two doses of the COVID-19, 0.11% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination. For Milton, there are 94,369 fully immunized residents – 0.11% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination.
