The COVID-19 death toll in South Simcoe now stands at 81.
The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit today (Oct 1) reported an Innisfil resident passed away, making them the first fatality connected to COVID in South Simcoe since late June
The health unit is reporting 15 new cases of COVID-19 in South Simcoe in the last two days (sep 29-30).
10 of those in Bradford West Gwillimbury, 4 in New Tecumseth and 1 in Innisfil.
There were 36 in total in Simcoe County.
There are now 60 active cases in South Simcoe, up 10 since Wednesday (sep 29) with 1 people now in hospital which is down 1.
The health unit still shows 85% of eligible residents of Simcoe Muskoka have had their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine with 79% fully vaccinated.
