A Burlington woman won a quarter of a million dollars playing INSTANT CROSSWORD DELUXE!
Joyce Martin is celebrating after winning the $250,000 prize. The personal support worker says she has been playing the lottery for about 30-years now, and INSTANT CROSSWORD DELUXE has been her favourite to consistently play.
She played her ticket at home when she started counting all her words and realized she had won big. “At first I thought I won $25,000,” she says. “I didn’t want to wake my husband, so I put my raincoat on over my pajamas and went to the store to validate the ticket!”
Martin called her children to tell them about the big win. “They wanted me to facetime them when I told my husband. He was worried and thought something was wrong at first. We all had tears in our eyes!”
Smiling, she says this win will go a long way for her family. “I will share with my children and save for retirement… This is a dream come true.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Hasty Market on Guelph Line in Burlington.
