Canada’s freeze-thaw cycle during the winter and an improper installation have led to several thousand dollars worth of damage to the Alliston Cenotaph.
Russ Nesbitt is the Chair with the Cenotaph Committee and says they originally thought it was just the caulking that had to be fixed.
But says an inspection turned up something much worse and much more expensive.
The repairs are expected to cost anywhere between $18,000 and $20,000.
A GoFundMe Page has been created to help raise money to help pay for the damage.
