Active cases seem to be on the decline this week.
Across Halton, there are 22 new cases today. The total number of cases is up to 19,317. With 18,927 resolved cases and 241 deaths, Halton is now at 149 active cases, six less cases than Wednesday’s update. The Region says that of the 19,317 total cases, 18,658 were confirmed positive while 659 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have seven new cases. That brings us to 6195 total cases. With 6114 resolved cases and 46 deaths, Milton is at 35 active cases, even with Wednesday, Tuesday and Monday’s updates. The Region says that of the 6195 total cases, 5965 were confirmed positive while 230 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 6515 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 2219 total variant cases.
An outbreak has been declared in Milton. It was first declared on Wednesday, September 8th. It is labelled as ‘Workplace – 158’. There are now 16 reported cases. Two are considered Halton cases. 14 are ‘non-Halton’ cases.
A second outbreak has been declared in Milton, this time a school. Hawthorne Village Public School has two cases, both Halton cases. The outbreak was declared on Thursday, September 16th.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 863,149 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 776,576 of the doses were to Halton residents.
434,733 second doses have been administered in Halton. 389,746 of those have been Halton residents.
Here’s a breakdown on ages of those receiving doses:
- 37,517 first doses and 43,199 second doses have been administered to people aged 12-17;
- 37,980 first doses and 40,249 second doses have been administered to people aged 18-24;

- 36,457 first doses and 37,038 second doses have been administered to people aged 50-54;
- 35,075 first doses and 34,647 second doses have been administered to people aged 55-59;
- 28,624 first doses and 28,224 second doses have been administered to people aged 60-64;
- 25,215 first doses and 24,209 second doses have been administered to people aged 65-69;
- 22,807 first doses and 22,182 second doses have been administered to people aged 70-74;
- 17,211 first doses and 16,986 second doses have been administered to people aged 75-79;
- 24,652 first doses and 24,325 second doses have been administered to people aged 80+; and,
- 1,828 first doses and 675 second doses are pending.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 72,912 first doses and 93,198 second doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 13,808 first doses and 9929 second doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 341,696 first doses and 331,606 second doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
The Halton Region says that out of the 446,654 Halton residents who are immunized with two doses of the COVID-19, 0.09% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination. For Milton, there are 92,625 fully immunized residents – 0.10% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination.
