Local charities could be getting some big donations thanks to United Way Halton & Hamilton.
The organization launched its 2021-2022 fundraising campaign. The goal this time around is $10.8 million.
The Town of Milton helped in the launch by holding a flag raising. Milton Mayor Gordon Krantz was one of the charter members of the organization about 40 years ago. He talks about growing United Way Halton and Hamilton, and how that starts with donations.

United Way Halton and Hamilton President and CEO Brad Park says the last year and a half has been hard on everyone. He adds that it’s exciting to see a goal as lofty as $10.8 million.

Joining Park was Anna Iacobelli, Senior Vice President, Metro West, TD Bank Group. She tells FM 101 Milton that it’s important for TD to participate in this campaign because it has a large number of colleagues within the area. It means a lot for them to give back to the communities that they live in.
Regional Councillor for Milton’s Ward 3 Mike Cluett was on-hand to help declare September 2021 as United Way Month within Milton. Also joining him were Town Councillors Kristina Tesser Derksen (Ward 1) and John Challinor (Ward 2). Councillor Cluett sits on the fundraising cabinet for United Way Halton & Hamilton. He’s ecstatic that Milton continues to help out each and every year – allowing them to raise their goals each time.
