We’re inching closer to 20,000 total cases across Halton.
The Halton Region says there are 20 new cases today. The total number of cases in Halton is up to 19,295. With 18,899 resolved cases and 241 deaths, Halton is now at 155 active cases, six less cases than Tuesday’s update. The Region says that of the 19,295 total cases, 18,637 were confirmed positive while 658 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have five new cases. That brings us to 6188 total cases. With 6107 resolved cases and 46 deaths, Milton is at 35 active cases, even with Tuesday and Monday’s updates. The Region says that of the 6188 total cases, 5958 were confirmed positive while 230 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 6514 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 2219 total variant cases.
An outbreak has been declared in Milton. It was first declared on Wednesday, September 8th. It is labelled as ‘Workplace – 158’. There are now 16 reported cases. Two are considered Halton cases. 14 are ‘non-Halton’ cases.
A second outbreak has been declared in Milton, this time a school. Hawthorne Village Public School has two cases, both Halton cases. The outbreak was declared on Thursday, September 16th.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 861,802 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 775,453 of the doses were to Halton residents.
433,888 second doses have been administered in Halton. 389,040 of those have been Halton residents.
Here’s a breakdown on ages of those receiving doses:
- 37,444 first doses and 43,097 second doses have been administered to people aged 12-17;
- 37,890 first doses and 40,116 second doses have been administered to people aged 18-24;

- 36,420 first doses and 36,980 second doses have been administered to people aged 50-54;
- 35,058 first doses and 34,593 second doses have been administered to people aged 55-59;
- 28,615 first doses and 28,220 second doses have been administered to people aged 60-64;
- 25,206 first doses and 24,192 second doses have been administered to people aged 65-69;
- 22,800 first doses and 22,174 second doses have been administered to people aged 70-74;
- 17,205 first doses and 16,979 second doses have been administered to people aged 75-79;
- 24,650 first doses and 24,321 second doses have been administered to people aged 80+; and,
- 1,816 first doses and 637 second doses are pending.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 72,599 first doses and 92,627 second doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 13,807 first doses and 9929 second doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 341,508 first doses and 331,332 second doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
The Halton Region says that out of the 445,774 Halton residents who are immunized with two doses of the COVID-19, 0.09% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination. For Milton, there are 92,505 fully immunized residents – 0.09% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination.
