Numbers appear to be slowly on the rise again.
There 36 new cases across the region. The total number of cases is up to 19,275. With 18,873 resolved cases and 241 deaths, Halton is now at 161 active cases, 15 more cases than Monday’s update. The Region says that of the 19,275 total cases, 18,620 were confirmed positive while 655 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have seven new cases. That brings us to 6183 total cases. With 6102 resolved cases and 46 deaths, Milton is at 35 active cases, even with Monday’s update. The Region says that of the 6183 total cases, 5954 were confirmed positive while 229 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 6484 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 2213 total variant cases.
An outbreak has been declared in Milton. It was first declared on Wednesday, September 8th. It is labelled as ‘Workplace – 158’. There are now 16 reported cases. Two are considered Halton cases. 14 are ‘non-Halton’ cases.
A second outbreak has been declared in Milton, this time a school. Hawthorne Village Public School has two cases, both Halton cases. The outbreak was declared on Thursday, September 16th.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 860,610 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 774,487 of the doses were to Halton residents.
433,148 second doses have been administered in Halton. 388,437 of those have been Halton residents.
Here’s a breakdown on ages of those receiving doses:
- 37,368 first doses and 42,981 second doses have been administered to people aged 12-17;
- 37,840 first doses and 39,999 second doses have been administered to people aged 18-24;
- 24,708 first doses and 24,730 second doses have been administered to people aged 25-29;
- 29,067 first doses and 28,792 second doses have been administered to people aged 30-34;
- 33,524 first doses and 33,628 second doses have been administered to people aged 35-39;
- 35,901 first doses and 36,714 second doses have been administered to people aged 40-44;
- 37,374 first doses and 38,371 second doses have been administered to people aged 45-49;
- 36,396 first doses and 36,947 second doses have been administered to people aged 50-54;
- 35,030 first doses and 34,562 second doses have been administered to people aged 55-59;
- 28,602 first doses and 28,201 second doses have been administered to people aged 60-64;
- 25,199 first doses and 24,175 second doses have been administered to people aged 65-69;
- 22,796 first doses and 22,166 second doses have been administered to people aged 70-74;
- 17,202 first doses and 16,972 second doses have been administered to people aged 75-79;
- 24,647 first doses and 24,319 second doses have been administered to people aged 80+; and,
- 1,808 first doses and 591 second doses are pending.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 72,328 first doses and 92,182 second doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 13,781 first doses and 9906 second doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 341,353 first doses and 331,060 second doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
The Halton Region says that out of the 445,053 Halton residents who are immunized with two doses of the COVID-19, 0.09% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination. For Milton, there are 92,268 fully immunized residents – 0.09% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination.
