The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) says that 37-year-old David Lavoie has been found dead on Monday.
The Hamilton man was the suspect in a shooting in Burlington earlier this month. His body was found in Burlington.
Police are not searching for any suspects related to his death and it is not deemed suspicious.

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has released the identity of the suspect in Thursday night’s shooting in Burlington.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of 37-year-old David Ryan Lavoie of Hamilton. He is wanted for the charge of Attempted Murder.
The Halton Police provided the following description for the suspect:
“David Lavoie is a white male, and bald with a short, stubbly beard. He is 5’10” tall with a muscular build. He was last seen wearing a black shirt (possibly a tank top) and grey pants.”
If you see David Lavoie, DO NOT APPROACH, and call police immediately.
The shooting took place at a residence in the area of Maple Crossing Boulevard shortly after 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 9th. One victim was taken to hospital and is currently in stable condition. The HRPS confirms that the victim and the suspect are known to one another.
Residents can continue to expect a police presence in the area today for the ongoing investigation.

Anyone with surveillance or dash cam footage in the area of Maple Crossing Boulevard and Maple Avenue between the hours of 5:30 – 7:30 pm on September 9th is also asked to contact police.

An investigation is underway into a shooting in Burlington.
The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) says there is a heavy police presence in the area of Maple Crossing Boulevard.
The shooting reportedly happened just after 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 9th. One victim was sent to the hospital with gunshot wounds.
A suspect is currently at large and is described as:
- Male
- White
- Bald
- 5’10″, muscular build
- Scruffy beard
- Wearing a black shirt – believed to be a tank top
- Wearing grey pants
The suspect fled on foot and is considered armed and dangerous. Do not approach if you see him, call 911 immediately.
This is not believed to be a random act.
Residents are asked to avoid the area while police conduct this active investigation. They should expect a heavy police presence for several hours.
