Now, it’s important to note that a reported theft of/from vehicle case just means that someone reported an attempt made on their vehicle. However, there is an increase in relay and reprogramming vehicle theft cases. You can learn more about that here.
With the number of theft and theft from vehicle cases, we’ll recycle a message from the HRPS where it encourages residents to implement the following theft prevention tips:
- Ensure your unattended vehicle(s) are locked and secure;
- Never leave spare keys in your vehicle;
- Remove valuables from plain view; and,
- Equip your vehicle with an alarm.
