Health Canada has authorized brand name changes for the three approved vaccines.

The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine will now be named Comirnaty, the Moderna vaccine will be named SpikeVax, and the AstraZeneca vaccine will be named Vaxzevria.
Health Canada reassures everyone that “These are only name changes. There are no changes to the vaccines themselves.”

As of Wednesday, September 15th, a total of 855,409 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton.
