We have the latest impaired driving report from the Halton Police.
There were six cases across Halton last weekend:
On Friday, August 27th, just after 2:00 p.m., Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Santa Maria Boulevard and Derry Road in Milton. As a result of an investigation, a 27-year-old Mississauga man was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Friday, August 27th, just before 3:00 p.m., Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Sixth Line Nassagaweya and 20 Side Road in Milton. As a result of an investigation, a 32-year-old Toronto man was charged with operation while impaired.
On Friday, August 27th, just after 8:00 p.m., Halton Police officers responded to a collision in the area of Lakeshore Road and Nelson Avenue in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 25-year-old Burlington man was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Friday, August 27th, 2021, just before 10:30 p.m., Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Trafalgar Road and Britannia Road in Milton. As a result of an investigation, a 37-year-old Erin man was charged with operation while impaired.
On Saturday, August 28th, 2021, just after 3:30 p.m., Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Dundas Street and Walkers Line in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 26-year-old Grimsby man was charged with operation while impaired.
On Saturday, August 28th, 2021 just before 10:30 p.m., Halton Police officers responded to a collision in the area of Limestone Road and Canyon Road in Milton. As a result of an investigation, a 28-year-old Milton man was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
Remember, driving under the influence is considered a crime in progress. Call 9-1-1 if you suspect that someone on the road is driving impaired.
Here are some signs of an impaired driver provided by the Halton Police:
- Driving unreasonably fast, slow or at an inconsistent speed;
- Drifting in and out of lanes;
- Tailgating and changing lanes frequently;
- Making exceptionally wide turns;
- Changing lanes or passing without sufficient clearance;
- Overshooting or stopping well before stop signs or stop lights;
- Disregarding signals and lights;
- Approaching signals or leaving intersections too quickly or slowly;
- Driving without headlights, failing to lower high beams or leaving turn signals on; and,
- Driving with windows open in cold or inclement weather.
The HRPS says that its officers remain committed to road safety through prevention, education, and enforcement initiatives.
