The latest COVID-19 statistics from the Halton Region have been released.
Around Halton, there are 23 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 18,803. With 18,445 resolved cases and 238 deaths, Halton is now at 120 active cases, two less than Thursday’s update. The Region says that of the 18,803 total cases, 18,174 were confirmed positive while 629 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have four new cases. That brings us to 6070 total cases. With 6004 resolved cases and 46 deaths, Milton is at 20 active cases, one less than Thursday’s update. The Region says that of the 6070 total cases, 5848 were confirmed positive while 222 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 6340 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 2174 total variant cases.
An outbreak in Milton was declared on Monday, August 23rd. It is labelled as ‘Workplace – 154’. There are two reported cases. Both are considered ‘non-Halton’ cases, meaning they are not Halton residents.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 845,084 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 761,839 of the doses were to Halton residents.
424,409 second doses have been administered in Halton. 381,161 of those have been Halton residents.

- 22,730 first doses and 22,072 second doses have been administered to people aged 70-74;
- 17,167 first doses and 16,917 second doses have been administered to people aged 75-79;
- 24,591 first doses and 24,244 second doses have been administered to people aged 80+; and,
- 1,564 first doses and 16 second doses are pending.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 68,050 first doses and 86,618 second doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 14,032 first doses and 10,386 second doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 338,593 first doses and 327,405 second doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
The Halton Region says that out of the 436,378 Halton residents who are immunized with two doses of the COVID-19, 0.06% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination. For Milton, there are 90,121 fully immunized residents – 0.06% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination.
