The latest COVID-19 statistics from the Halton Region have been released.
Around Halton, there are 18 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 18,780. With 18,427 resolved cases and 238 deaths, Halton is now at 122 active cases, seven than Wednesday’s update. The Region says that of the 18,780 total cases, 18,151 were confirmed positive while 629 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have one new case. That brings us to 6066 total cases. With 5999 resolved cases and 46 deaths, Milton is at 21 active cases, four less than Wednesday’s update. The Region says that of the 6066 total cases, 5844 were confirmed positive while 222 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 6333 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 2172 total variant cases.
An outbreak in Milton was declared on Monday, August 23rd. It is labelled as ‘Workplace – 154’. There are two reported cases. Both are considered ‘non-Halton’ cases, meaning they are not Halton residents.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 843,692 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 760,649 of the doses were to Halton residents.
423,798 second doses have been administered in Halton. 380,629 of those have been Halton residents.

- 22,727 first doses and 22,063 second doses have been administered to people aged 70-74;
- 17,166 first doses and 16,913 second doses have been administered to people aged 75-79;
- 24,587 first doses and 24,237 second doses have been administered to people aged 80+; and,
- 1,521 first doses and 15 second doses are pending.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 67,607 first doses and 86,261 second doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 14,052 first doses and 10,393 second doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 338,235 first doses and 327,144 second doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
The Halton Region says that out of the 435,562 Halton residents who are immunized with two doses of the COVID-19, 0.06% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination. For Milton, there are 89,902 fully immunized residents. 0.06% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination.
