The latest COVID-19 stats are in for Milton and Halton for Thursday, August 26th.
Around the region, there are 17 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 18,640. With 18,272 resolved cases and 237 deaths, Halton is now at 131 active cases, seven less than Wednesday’s update. The Region says that of the 18,640 total cases, 18,016 were confirmed positive while 624 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have seven new cases. That brings us to 6041 total cases. With 5955 resolved cases and 46 deaths, Milton is at 40 active cases, three less than Wednesday’s update. The Region says that of the 6041 total cases, 5820 were confirmed positive while 221 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 6229 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 2145 total variant cases.
There is an outbreak in Milton that was first declared on August 10th. This one is labelled as ‘Health & Wellness – 2’. There are two reported cases. Both are considered Halton cases. It could close by tomorrow pending any new cases.
A second outbreak in Milton was declared on Monday, August 23rd. It is labelled as ‘Workplace – 154’. There are two reported cases. Both are considered ‘non-Halton’ cases, meaning they are not Halton residents.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 833,520 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 751,716 of the doses were to Halton residents.

- 13,906 first doses and 10,295 second doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 337,011 first doses and 321,963 second doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
The Halton Region says that out of the 428,715 Halton residents who are immunized with two doses of the COVID-19, 0.05% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination. For Milton, there are 87,561 fully immunized residents. 0.05% of them have tested positive for the virus after vaccination.
