Milton’s Town Council is meeting once again tonight (Monday, June 7th).
At the time of writing, the agenda does appear to be a bit smaller compared to recent meetings. That said, there are a few items and notes that stick out.
There will be a silent reflection at the top of the meeting. Based on its placement in the agenda, it will likely take place before O’ Canada.
The meeting will have one presentation. Town Chief Financial Officer/Treasurer Glen Cowan will present the 2020 financial report. You can read up on the presentation here.
There are also several items up for consideration.
That includes a discussion on the Milton residents who will be eligible for future windrow removal services. A windrow is the pile of snow left behind a snow plow at the bottom of a driveway. Learn more here.
Further discussion on local vehicles causing excessive noise. This has been an ongoing issue and was recently brought up a Town Council meeting by Regional Councillor Colin Best and Town Councillor Kristina Tesser Derksen. Learn more about what will be discussed tonight on the matter here.
Councillor Tesser Derksen is also bringing forth an item requesting the Town of Milton to limit single-use plastics at Town facilities.
Councillor Rick Di Lorenzo is bringing forth an item requesting the Town and Council to oppose the GTA West Project. myFM News spoke with Leader of the Ontario Green Party, Mike Schreiner, on why the GTA West Corridor is not an ideal project for Milton and Halton residents. Read the item here.
There are other items on the agenda that might pique your interest. You can read the full agenda here.
The Council meeting will be broadcast live on YouTube. You can watch the stream here. It starts at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 7th.
