As the UV index rises back up for the summer, it’s a reminder to wear sunscreen and monitor your skin for possible signs of skin cancer.
But what if you find something suspicious? With the pandemic, many have taken to virtual solutions to get a medical opinion. Speeding up the process of scheduling an appointment with a dermatologist for Ontarians could soon be done through an app.
GetSkinHelp currently has an online service to help people with skin problems and are working on a new app which will soon be available to the public. Richard Pietro says they can help you get a dermatologist appointment in a matter of days.
He adds that it’s as easy as taking a picture and sending it to GetSkinHelp. It could be anything that you suspect might be skin cancer. Doctors will then review the images with the medical history that they have.
