Even though we can’t put boats out on the water with access to marinas closed, there are a number of ways to prepare your boat for the season on dry land.
OPP Sergeant Dave Hackney from the Marine Unit tells us one of things people can do before heading out is to make sure you have enough life jackets.
This is Safe Boating Awareness Week (Saturday, May 22nd to Friday, 28th).
Hackney says boaters should also make sure their vessel has enough fuel to last the trip, adding that every vessel (even manually-operated ones) needs to have the proper equipment on board.
