We’re right in the middle of Canada Road Safety Week.
It’s a seven-day national campaign aimed at making the country’s roads the safest in the world.
Halton Police Constable Ryan Anderson says these kinds of campaigns let residents know that road safety is a priority.
He adds that everyone has a role to play in keeping the roads safe. That means motorists, cyclists and pedestrians all have to do their part.
There is no excuse to justify unsafe driving behaviour. As the HRPS says, “it is simply #NotWorthTheRisk“. If you’re unsafe on the road, the Halton Police will find you.
Unsafe driving behaviors come with increased risk of injury or death. Other consequences include criminal charges, fines, suspensions, or vehicle impoundment.
This interview with Constable Anderson was connected to the ‘Ask a Cop’ feature from Wednesday. You can learn the difference between impaired driving and being over the limit, as well as what you should do with spare license plates by clicking here.
