The Halton Region is reporting the death of a resident.
The resident is believed to be from Burlington, giving the city 55 deaths. Oakville remains at 64 deaths, Halton Hills is at 57 deaths and Milton is at 45 deaths. Halton has 221 reported deaths total.
Across Halton, there are 64 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 17,065. With 16,321 resolved cases and 221 deaths, Halton is now at 523 active cases – 30 less than Wednesday’s count. The Region says that of the 17,065 total cases, 16,490 were confirmed positive while 575 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have 16 new cases. That brings us to 5542 total cases. With 5335 resolved cases and 45 deaths, Milton is at 162 active cases – four less than Wednesday’s number. The Region says that of the 5542 total cases, 5331 were confirmed positive while 211 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 5330 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 1863 total variant cases.
The Halton Region is also noting vaccination numbers. A total of 275,158 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 242,120 of the doses were to Halton residents.
Here’s a breakdown on ages of those receiving doses:
- 12,459 doses have been administered to people aged 16-24;
- 10,704 doses have been administered to people aged 25-29;
- 12,529 doses have been administered to people aged 30-34;
- 14,848 doses have been administered to people aged 35-39;
- 22,239 doses have been administered to people aged 40-44;
- 24,026 doses have been administered to people aged 45-49;
- 26,275 doses have been administered to people aged 50-54;
- 28,557 doses have been administered to people aged 55-59;
- 27,370 doses have been administered to people aged 60-64;
- 24,663 doses have been administered to people aged 65-69;
- 22,717 doses have been administered to people aged 70-74;
- 17,630 doses have been administered to people aged 75-79;
- 29,301 doses have been administered to people aged 80+; and,
- 1840 doses have been administered to people that are pending.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 38,083 doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 20,125 doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 216,950 doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
