The latest COVID-19 update from the Halton Region is in.
Across Halton, there are 69 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 17,001. With 16,244 resolved cases and 220 deaths, Halton is now at 553 active cases – 16 less than Tuesday’s count. The Region says that of the 17,001 total cases, 16,427 were confirmed positive while 574 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have 18 new cases. That brings us to 5526 total cases. With 5315 resolved cases and 45 deaths, Milton is at 166 active cases – 7 less than Tuesday’s number. The Region says that of the 5526 total cases, 5314 were confirmed positive while 212 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 5273 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 1846 total variant cases.
The Halton Region is also noting vaccination numbers. A total of 270,312 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 237,551 of the doses were to Halton residents.
Here’s a breakdown on ages of those receiving doses:
- 11,701 doses have been administered to people aged 16-24;
- 10,337 doses have been administered to people aged 25-29;
- 12,067 doses have been administered to people aged 30-34;
- 14,314 doses have been administered to people aged 35-39;
- 21,553 doses have been administered to people aged 40-44;
- 23,279 doses have been administered to people aged 45-49;
- 25,711 doses have been administered to people aged 50-54;
- 28,205 doses have been administered to people aged 55-59;
- 27,309 doses have been administered to people aged 60-64;
- 24,617 doses have been administered to people aged 65-69;
- 22,692 doses have been administered to people aged 70-74;
- 17,614 doses have been administered to people aged 75-79;
- 29,284 doses have been administered to people aged 80+; and,
- 1629 doses have been administered to people that are pending.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 37,651 doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 20,125 doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 212,536 doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
