A Georgetown man has been arrested and charged following an alarming interaction he reportedly had with three 13-year-old girls.
The Halton Regional Police Service says that on Monday, May 17th, at roughly 2:20 p.m., the three girls were sitting on the playground at Centennial Public School, located at 233 Delrex Boulevard in Georgetown. The accused approached the trio and started a conversation. The report from the HRPS says the man learned that all three girls were in Grade 8. He then reportedly left the scene, only to return a short time later. He then reportedly asked if the three girls would perform a sexual act on him. When the girls refused, the accused offered to expose himself to them. The girls left the scene without further incident and reported what had occurred.
Police attended the scene and found the accused nearby.
29-year-old Judah Sonnylal of Georgetown has been charged with:
- Invitation to Sexual Touching (3 counts); and,
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose (knife located on accused during search incident to arrest).
Sonnylal has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
