The Laurier Lecture Series is back.
The Milton Public Library is hosting the virtual lecture tonight (Wednesday, May 12th) on Zoom. You can learn about how we can help end homelessness. The topic is described as such:
“Over a quarter of a million people in Canada experience homelessness every year. The crisis has grown dramatically over the last thirty years. None of this was inevitable. In this lecture I will explore how we got here and what we can do to reverse the tide to prevent and end homelessness in Canada.”
It’s being hosted by Dr. Erin Dej, PhD, Assistant Professor, Department of Criminology for Wilfrid Laurier University. According to the Milton Public Library, “She has been doing research and advocating with people with lived experience of homelessness and their allies for over a decade. She recently published her first book, A Complex Exile: Homelessness and Social Exclusion in Canada.”
It starts at 7:00 p.m. and is free to register. Click here to register and learn more.
