A Halton resident is dead from COVID-19.
The stats from the Region suggest the person was from Oakville as the town is now up to 63 deaths total. Halton Hills remains at 57, Burlington at 53, and Halton Hills at 41. Halton is up to 214 deaths total.
Across Halton, there are 123 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 15,705. With 14,644 resolved cases and 214 deaths, Halton is now at 847 active cases – 10 less than Tuesday’s count. The Region says that of the 15,705 total cases, 15,185 were confirmed positive while 520 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have 36 new cases. That brings us to 5123 total cases. With 4794 resolved cases and 41 deaths, Milton is at 288 active cases – nine less than Tuesday’s number. The Region says that of the 5123 total cases, 4934 were confirmed positive while 189 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 4151 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 1498 total variant cases.
The Halton Region is also noting vaccination numbers. A total of 214,866 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 187,930 of the doses were to Halton residents.
Here’s a breakdown on ages of those receiving doses:
- 6105 doses have been administered to people aged 16-24;
- 6407 doses have been administered to people aged 25-29;
- 7178 doses have been administered to people aged 30-34;
- 8627 doses have been administered to people aged 35-39;
- 14,682 doses have been administered to people aged 40-44;

- 16 doses have been administered to people that are pending.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 31,545 doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 19,521 doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 163,800 doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
