There is a new death from COVID-19 being reported in Halton.
The death is being registered as a Burlington resident, giving the city 52 deaths total. Oakville remains at 60 deaths, Halton Hills is at 56 deaths, and Milton is at 39 deaths from the virus. Halton now has a total of 207 deaths.
Active cases appear to be dropping, which is a good sign.
Across Halton, there are 133 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 13,823. With 12,643 resolved cases and 207 deaths, Halton is now at 973 active cases – 37 less than Tuesday’s count. The Region says that of the 13,823 total cases, 13,383 were confirmed positive while 440 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have 31 new cases. That brings us to 4508 total cases. With 4152 resolved cases and 39 deaths, Milton is still at 345 active cases – 28 less than Tuesday’s number. The Region says that of the 4508 total cases, 4342 were confirmed positive while 166 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 2590 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 994 total variant cases.
The Halton Region is also noting vaccination numbers. A total of 153,970 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 135,409 of the doses were to Halton residents.
Here’s a breakdown on ages of those receiving doses:
- 3379 doses have been administered to people aged 16-24;
- 3801 doses have been administered to people aged 25-29;
- 3864 doses have been administered to people aged 30-34;
- 4248 doses have been administered to people aged 35-39;
- 5285 doses have been administered to people aged 40-44;
- 5954 doses have been administered to people aged 45-49;
- 7162 doses have been administered to people aged 50-54;
- 15,914 doses have been administered to people aged 55-59;
- 18,326 doses have been administered to people aged 60-64;
- 20,221 doses have been administered to people aged 65-69;

- 28,347 doses have been administered to people aged 80+; and,
- 12 doses have been administered to people that are pending.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 13,235 doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 17,188 doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 123,547 doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
