You can celebrate Ramadan with a virtual event this weekend.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Fast with Muslims event returns on Saturday. Director of Advocacy Maqbool Sheikh says it’s a great event for non-muslim residents to (virtually) attend.
He adds that you don’t need to fast to take part. That said, it will have the unique element of giving you an opportunity to experience how to start, keep and break a fast, done from the comfort of your home.
Milton MP Adam van Koeverden, Milton MPP Parm Gill, and Milton Mayor Gordon Krantz will all be a part of the call and will say a few words of encouragement.
Sheikh explains why it’s important for residents to take part in these kinds of events.
When you don’t have any personal connection to other cultures or faiths, you might end up being influenced by stereotypes.
The Fast with Muslims event is free to attend. It will be live through Zoom on Saturday, April 17th. It starts at 7:00 p.m. and will run until sunset at roughly 8:15 p.m.. Click here to register for the call.
