The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 136 is gushing over the success of its Easter Fish Fry event.
Member James Hunter says they had way more orders than they ever expected.
He adds that they had so many orders that the Legion needed to pick up two more friers from the Optimist Club in order to get everything ready in time.
On behalf of the Milton Legion, Hunter thanks the community for their generosity. He says they’re still counting the money that was raised but wants supporters to know it’s all going towards funding the organization, and thus, supporting local veterans.
The success of this drive-thru event has them thinking of ways to hold similar events moving forward. Hunter feels a summer barbeque with hot dogs, burgers, and fries would be appropriate, should things open back up in time.
