Two youths are facing charges after being arrested in connection to what is being classified as a robbery in Oakville.
The Halton Regional Police Service says that officers responded to the area of White Oaks Secondary School for a report of a robbery at roughly 2:15 a.m. on Monday, April 5th. The HRPS says that two males had taken a taxi from Hamilton to Oakville. Upon arrival the males attempted to flee on foot to avoid paying the transportation fee.
During the incident, the cab driver was reportedly assaulted and sustained minor physical injuries.
An investigation was held and on Tuesday, April 6th, a 14-year-old male and 16-year-old male were arrested for robbery and fraudulently obtain transportation.
In accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act, neither youth can be identified.
