The Halton Police has provided an update on the reportedly ‘random’ stabbing in Oakville.
34-year-old Pravin Anthony of Mississauga has been charged with:
- Attempt Murder
- Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

A Mississauga man is under arrest after an investigation into reports of a stabbing in Oakville.
At 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 30th, the Halton Police received reports of a male acting suspiciously in the area of Clearview Woods Park. Reports said the male was approaching random people at the park.
While officers were searching for the male, it was reported that a man in his 60’s had been stabbed. The victim was found by police and taken to a trauma center with serious, non-life threatening injuries.
A short time later, a 34 year-old man from Mississauga was located and arrested by police. The Halton Police says that charges are currently pending as the investigation continues, adding that it will release information like the suspect’s name once the investigation is completed.
The HRPS says there is no known relationship between the suspect and victim and based on the investigation, the incident appears to be random and unprovoked.
