The Halton Region has reported one of the highest jumps in new cases of COVID-19 its had in a while.
Across Halton, there are 87 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 10,817. With 10,226 resolved cases and 200 deaths, Halton is now at 391 active cases – 57 more than Friday’s count. The Region says that of the 10,817 total cases, 10,465 were confirmed positive while 352 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have 36 new cases. That brings us to 3431 total cases. With 3261 resolved cases and 36 deaths, Milton is now at 134 active cases – 19 more than Friday’s number. The Region says that of the 3431 total cases, 3311 were confirmed positive while 120 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is also detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 591 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 189 total variant cases.
The Halton Region is also noting vaccination numbers. The numbers are updated weekly, with the most recent being on Friday, March 26th. A total of 67,563 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton:
- 38,506 have been administered through the Halton Healthcare COVID-19 Vaccination Centre;
- 14,107 have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 14,950 have been administered through the newly launched COVID-19 vaccination clinics.
