The Ontario Government is investing in support for Milton’s retirement homes.
More than $135,700 is being given to three local facilities. The homes in Milton receiving the funding include:
- Birkdale Place Seniors Community is receiving $43,700;
- Martindale Gardens Retirement Residence is receiving $35,800;
- Seasons Milton is receiving $56,100.
The money is to cover COVID-19 related costs such as hiring, training and testing additional staff, as well as sanitizing and purchasing cleaning supplies to prevent and contain the spread of infection.
“Frontline staff working in retirement homes have been working tirelessly to stop the spread of COVID-19 and keep residents and staff safe,” says Parm Gill, Member of Provincial Parliament for Milton. “We are making sure our seniors are protected and cared for is part of our plan to do whatever is necessary to defeat COVID-19. I am pleased to announce that this funding is in addition to the $756,400 given to Allendale and Mount Nemo Christian Nursing Home.”
It’s all part of $30 million in funding for retirement homes province-wide.
