(The start of the Coldest Night of the Year walk in 2019)
Milton Transitional Housing is ecstatic with its Coldest Night of the Year event.
They raised $82,744 (and counting) to help fight homelessness in our town.
Executive Director Donna Danielli says the response from the community was amazing.
She says that a lot of ‘Coldest Night’ has been about the group aspect, with everyone meeting up to then walk together, and coming back for a hot bowl of soup. While none of that was able to happen, the virtual aspect allowed for people who weren’t able to attend the in-person event in past years to take part online.
Danielli says it’s heartwarming to see more than $82,000 raised to fight homelessness in Milton.
She says that a hybrid option moving forward is being considered, where MTH would incorporate the original in-person event with the new virtual experience. That way, residents who are unable to attend can still do their best to raise funds to fight homelessness in Milton.
Danielli provides a reminder as to what the money raised is specifically going towards.
You can still donate online to the Coldest Night of the Year Milton. The fundraising is open until the end of March. Danielli says that residents are always invited to donate to Milton Transitional Housing throughout the rest of the year.
