The Halton Regional Police Service is telling residents to not call 911 unless it is for an emergency.
This comes after an Oakville teenager reportedly called the number when their mother changed their Xbox password.
The phone call seemingly baffled the Halton Police with its Twitter account confirming that “yes, this [actually] happened.”
Never thought we'd have to say this but here we are. Mom changing your Xbox password is NOT a reason to call 911. Yes, this happened.

Again, if the call is not an emergency, do not dial 911.
If you must speak with the police, but the call is not an emergency, you can call your local detachment. Milton’s station can be reached at (905) 878-5511.
