The Government of Ontario is providing more funding to help seniors in Milton.
$54,014 is being invested in the Seniors Active Living Centre in Milton.
Milton MPP Parm Gill says Ontario is working to support the health and well-being of local seniors during COVID-19.
“These have been challenging times for everyone, including our seniors in Milton… This will provide support for our seniors and care for their wellbeing by keeping them active and socially connected within their own community.”
The investment will focus on virtual programs like teleconferences, online videos, one-on-one phone calls to help seniors stay connected from home, and support projects such as:
- Interactive telephone-based group programming for socially isolated seniors and people with disabilities;
- Online educational programs such as tax clinics, technology assistance, health and wellness, and COVID-19 information.
