Food4Kids Halton recently held its annual general meeting.
During the AGM, the charity organization gave out several awards to local supporters. That includes the owner of John’s No Frills in Milton being given the Big Hearts Group Award.
John Mazzawi and his team received the award in part for their work with myFM’s All Hands on Deck Food Drive last summer. Food4Kids Halton says that since getting involved through the inaugural All Hands on Deck Food Drive in 2019, John’s No Frills has made their store and staff available to any organization that has expressed an interest in doing a food drive. They commended the store for its work in putting together and selling pre-packs of their most needed food items at each cash during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The other award recipients include:
- Individual Impact Award Recipient – Brandon Graham Parkes
- Above and Beyond Award Recipients – Denise and Peter Mule for the work they do each year with the Pack a Bag Foundation.
In 2020, Pack a Bag Foundation provided 2500 backpacks of gifts and 384 turkey hampers to families in need.
