The Halton Region’s latest COVID-19 update shows four new deaths.
Of the four deaths, two of them were Halton Hills residents and two were Milton residents. The two deaths in Milton were residents at Allendale Long Term Care Home. Since Sunday, January 10th, there have now been six deaths at the LTCH during its latest outbreak, five were residents, while the other is still unspecified. There have been 32 reported cases at Allendale. 18 are residents, four are staff members, three are unspecified, and the other seven are categorized as ‘non-Halton’ cases.
Milton now has 35 deaths total from the virus. Halton Hills has 47 deaths, Burlington has 49, and Oakville has 58 deaths total. Halton is up to 189 deaths total.
Looking at Milton’s major ongoing outbreak:
- On Monday, January 18th, the Halton Region reported an outbreak at what is classified as ‘Congregate Living – 37’. It’s believed that this is Maplehurst Correctional Facility, which was reportedly experiencing an outbreak at the same time of the same magnitude. As of the time of writing, there have been 288 total cases reported during this outbreak. 185 have been residents, 12 have been staff members, and 91 are categorized as ‘non-Halton’ cases.
Across Halton, there are 45 new cases. The total number is up to 9138 cases. With 8696 resolved cases and 189 deaths, Halton is at 253 active cases – six less than yesterday’s total.
In Milton, we have 15 new cases. The total number of cases is at 2895. With 2795 resolved cases and 35 deaths, Milton is at 65 active cases – 12 less than yesterday.
Below are the numbers for Ontario, including roughly 1,038 new cases province-wide. There have been 289,621 total cases in Ontario.
