The Hike for Hospice is returning in a few months.
The Townsend Smith Hospice Foundation has announced the date for its biggest fundraiser: Saturday, May 1st.
The Director of Development for the Foundation, Kate Holmes, says the hike will be virtual once again.
The organization held its 2020 event last fall and crushed all expectations with its first attempt at going virtual. With a goal of $5,000, the Foundation wound up raising more than $20,000.
The top fundraiser last year was Victoria Hughes. Holmes says that Hughes is already signed up to help Townsend Smith reach its goal this spring. 2021’s goal is $30,000.
She adds that the virtual aspect can add a little bit of fun to the mix.
Holmes has taken part in the annual Hike for Hospice a few times over the years and she says that last year they stopped in for ice cream with her family on their walk. That may just be the plan this year as well.
The Townsend Smith Hospice Foundation is working toward its goal of bringing a hospice to the Milton and North Halton area.
You can register to be a part of the virtual Hike for Hospice here. The money raised will help in the campaign to build a hospice.
